Today's video is a bit of a chatty GRWM featuring a pretty, neutral metallic spring appropriate makeup look that would be great for really anywhere, be that school, work, or everyday. I also just wanted to play around with some of my favourite things and do a really casual video because I hadn't got a chance to film in a couple weeks because I had pinkeye and wasn't able to wear makeup! >_<
I hope you like this video and this look, be sure to let me know if you have any suggestions for future looks!
Hey guys! Here's a deep, vampy look for you guys today. I'm sorry the duochrome in the eyeshadow I use doesn't pop right on my eyes on camera, but I swear it looked cool in real life!
Also, I was planning to record a voiceover for this video, but it turned out quite short so I didn't feel it was necessary. I put in some titles for anything I did want to point out, but otherwise, I hope you enjoy this as a GRWM. Let me know if you want to see me do more voiceovers, though!
As always, if you have similar colours from other brands, you do not need the ones I use here, but all the same, the products I used will be listed in the video's description.
Hey guys! Looking for a new makeup look to wear to work or school? Maybe something a little deeper and winter-appropriate, but also still soft and workplace safe? Today's tutorial is soft, wearable, and appropriate for just about anywhere, unless you work or go to school somewhere makeup is banned. This look isn't fully matte, but the shimmer is soft, not over-the-top. I used a slightly deeper bronze on the outer corner and paired it with a deeper nude lip, which I think works well to make it feel more wintery, while still being very basic. Hope you like it!
Hey guys! I know I posted 2 other NYE looks already, but this is the one I actually wore on the day myself! I really love how it turned out, so I'm happy to share it with you all. I hope you like it too. I think it could be great for any type of party or clubbing makeup, and you could easily change up the look with a wing, falsies, or a different lip, if you like!
Hey guys! Today's video is for those of you looking for a pretty NYE or party look that doesn't revolve around glitter and is a little more subdued and wearable. I really love this one, and I'm sure I'll be recreating it, because it's that good, and these eyes would easily go with a variety of lip shades. You obviously do not need to pair it with the deep purple lips I used in this video! I hope you love the look as well and have a fun, safe New Year's!
If you are looking for a glitterbomb makeup look that's easy to recreate, check out my Glittery Drugstore-Only NYE Look I posted last week!
Hey guys! Today I've got a fun, creative Halloween tutorial for you! Not creative in that I think I made it up, but creative because you can take inspiration from what I did, but it would also be so easy to put your own spin on it and still come up with something awesome!
Feel free to use different colours, depending what you want this makeup to be, green is great for a wood fairy or elf, but you could also be a pink fairy, or use blues, greens, and teals for a water sprite or mermaid. I hope you enjoy this video and if you take any inspiration from it, I'd love to see what you come up with!
Hi guys! I posted the above picture of a really gorgeous red/orange-y, fall leaves type look on instagram just over a week ago, and loved it so much I wanted to recreate the look for you in a tutorial! Also, I attempt the impossible (for me) and use some pretty, fluttery lashes from Kiss. Hope you enjoy!
I've seen lots of people do this video in the past, as well as in the last couple months, and it's an interesting idea, so I thought I would share my purchases that were influenced by various youtubers, bloggers, and other places on the internet!
Let me know down below any purchases you've made because someone (or everyone) online was in love with it!
Hey guys, just quick GRWM video playing around with basing an eye look around that rusty shade in the shaaanxo palette. I actually really like how it came out, so I hope you will too! =D
Hey guys! Today's video is another look with the BH Cosmetics Shaaanxo Palette, this time much darker, smokier, and a bit more nighttime. Though, as always, I think you can use this anytime if you like to wear a little more makeup sometimes =P
I paired this dark eye with my new beloved gray lipstick, which is the Smashbox Be Legendary Punked Matte lipstick. I love it, but of course you can pair this look with a nice neutral nude or pink, if you just cant muster the courage to wear grey lips out of the house! Before I show you the gray, though, I also show you the eyes with an orange lip for another option, so yeah, hopefully you can make this look work for you somehow.
Hey guys, as asked for by a couple people on my Perfect Palette 2 Tag video, here are my answers to the original perfect palette tag! Link me if you've done this tag as well! Enjoy!
Hi guys! I wanted to post this video to show you just one of the ways you can use this gorgeous palette, and so you can get an idea of how nicely it works. I will be doing a darker, more night time look in the next couple weeks, so make sure to look out for that!
In the meantime, check out my review of the palette, if you haven't already seen it!
Sorry if I seem a little scattered in this video, I was feeling really not great—sniffles, stuffed up sinuses, headache, and my right eye had been watering for 4 days straight, plus I didn't sleep well—but I wanted to get my review up on this palette as quickly as possible so that maybe I can help those of you who may be on the fence about this one decide if this is for you or not, before the introductory sale price ends! Right now, this palette is only $14.50 USD, but the full price will be $22 USD, so best to buy soon if you want it!
I've also included some things I should have mentioned in the video to this post, so make sure to check out the pictures below, as well as a short breakdown of how I like each of the colours in terms of blendability and pigmentation. Spoilers: I really love the whole palette, as I'm sure you'll see from the video.
The packaging on this palette is gorgeous, including the box, which they basically made to look exactly like the palette inside. It's this prety pastel pink inpired by the lights in Shannon's background in her videos, and I really like the look, though I'm worried the palette is going to get dirty, so I keep putting it back in it's box so far!
So first, let's take a look at the lipstick side of this clever little two-sided palette:
I love the range of colours in here; you've got some pretty, nearly universally flattering nudes, some brights, including the orange-y red type of shade Shannon seems to have loved lately, a gorgeous bright pink, a coral, and a couple lovely berry shades! Maybe not everyone will love every shade, but I think they're all really wearable. Take a look at the swatches: (swatched from left to right, top to bottom. Click to see a larger image!)
The colours are all pigmented, and don't apply streaky (except that I'm shitty with a lip brush, but everything I've ever applied with a lipbrush applied streaky, so I think that's just my technique!), especially when applied with your finger! They can be applied both more heavily for a full-colour, opaque look, or sheered out for more of a stain-like finish. And of course, you can get adventurous and mix colours to create even more shades.
While the lipsticks are great, however, I was totally in it for the shadows when lusting after and finally purchasing this palette!
My picture above makes the shadows seem a little more neutral or cool-toned, but in reality they are all quite warm, and so so pretty! I'm glad that the picture seems to have caught the blue and the brown tones in the middle of the bottom row, however! Such a fun, duochromatic shadow! Here's some swatches: (again, left to right, top to bottom, and click to view larger.)
The first shade in the top row basically is my skin colour, so it doesn't show up in the swatches, unfortunately, but just imagine it in there before the pretty metallic highlight shade! All the shadows, though, are really great. I haven't had any problems with fallout, there's no chunky glitters, and both the mattes and the shimmers are very blendable and pigmented! I do wish there was a medium toned matte brown for a crease colour, but those two mid-toned matte shades (the yellow and rust) are really nice crease colours alone, or paired together like the look I'm wearing in the above video. And I have browns in other palettes if I really decide I need one.
Of course, if you don't feel you need a matte shadow for the crease (I don't always!), then you can pull in one of the more mid-toned shimmery browns for your crease shade. Overall, I think there is a lot of versatility and room to play around with this palette, and I think it is a fun addition to any eyeshadow lover's collection. Especially if you're a Shaaanxo fangirl like me!

Let me know your thoughts, if you're getting this one, or if you've already tired it! And have yourself an awesome day =)
Hey again! It's been a while since I posted, because of school stuff and all, but a new video went up on my channel on Tuesday morning. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out (HD Link):
If you don't already subscribe, you should do that, so you'll always know when I have new videos right away, as opposed to finding out here when I remember to do a blog post about it a couple days later! =P
I’m doing a rainbow-y version of Cyberpunk for halloween (just google Cyberpunk Fashion if you don’t know what I mean), so I wanted to make sure that what I had pictured in my head would be a possibility before the day dawned. Here’s a quick look at the various parts of my makeup for this Halloween!
Rainbow eyes. Sorry for the blur on the first picture:
Looks much cooler once you get the black liner and mascara on to make the colours pop:
These eyes are really easy if you already have the makeup necessary. I used my BH Cosmetics palette colours over my Nyx Milk pencil. Then I used my brushes to pat on the colour stripes. I didn’t even blend the colours together, just overlapped them slightly, and I really love the look. If you wanted, obviously you could blend the edges and make this more of a gradient and less of a harsh rainbow!
And then, neon pink brows:
The brows are another thing that I think look more impressive than they are. All you need to do is use the Milk pencil like on the eyes, fill in your brows with the white. Then, I used a slanted liner brush to smooth the white into the hairs, cleaned the brush, and used a hot pink shadow and patted it onto the base until I liked the saturation. This is really easy to do with any colour you want, though a matte shadow will work better than a shimmer.
And finally, my lips:
I was just planning to use my MAC Hang-up for the look, but it didn’t seem dark enough. So what I did was I used my Nyx jumbo eye pencil in Black Bean (I think), lined the outter edge, and used a lip brush to smudge the colour towards the center of my lips for a slight gradient effect. Then, I redefined the outer edges with a black eyeliner pencil. These look a little rough and patchy, but as I wore the look, the colours ended up blending together and looking cooler.
And finally, here’s the makeup with my rainbow wig:
I’ll most likely make sure to post my costume pictures here either a little before or after Halloween. If I don’t post before then, I hope you all have a fantastic time at whatever you plan to do on Halloween, be it parties, clubbing, or sitting home with your cat and some pizza! I suggest putting on a costume no matter what you’re doing, though! =P
Sorry I’ve been so bad about posting lately. Once the new semester starts and I get into a normal schedule again, things will probably get back on course. As it is right now, I have several post ideas just waiting for me to type them up…
The first post I want to share with you is my review of the BH Cosmetics 1st Edition 120 Color Palette. As you saw in my Christmas haul post, I got this from my boyfriend, and now that I’ve had a couple weeks to use and play around with it, I feel a lot more qualified to tell you my opinions. But first, I’ll give you another look at the palette, including some more shots of the colours and some swatches, which I didn’t include in the Christmas post:
And here are a few swatches of random colours. I obviously can’t swatch all of them for you, but this gives you a bit of an idea. Some colours are more pigmented than others. The matte shades a little duller without a primer, but are wonderful and bright just like in the pan over a shadow primer. They are a little bit chalky sometimes, and a little flakey, so you do have to watch out for fall-out. That said, I think the colour pay off is worth a little fall out. The metallic and shimmery shades are really pigmented and almost creamy in texture.
The shadows are fairly pigmented, and even the ones that aren’t great swatched on their own are great over a primer or cream shadow. There is some fall out, but even Urban Decay has fall out… it’s kinda unavoidable, and I think the colour payoff with this palette makes it mostly worthwhile. Also, there’s just such a wonderful range of bright, neutral, matte, shimmer, and metallic shades in this palette, so I think it’s a great buy!
My boyfriend got this for $9 from BH Cosmetics’s website during their Black Friday sales, though I believe they’re usually $18. Still a pretty good price. Also, the Canadian shipping was pretty fast, so I imagine the American would be even better.
And, lastly, I wanted to show off a couple looks I tried using colours from the palette.
Icy blue (over ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer):
The colours seem to have blended together so much that its hard to tell where one ends and the next begins, but there are about 3 shadow shades in this one.
Fire gradient (over ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer):
I really loved this one, and the more I look at it, the more I like it. I love how it pops against my eye colour.
Together:
Especially with my eyes open, these ended up looking like Portals on my eyes!
Simple silver (over this silver glitter shadow stick thing I have from years ago):
And these were my New Year’s Eve eyes. I was so happy with this look. Instead of a primer, I used the silver cream shadow from the Revlon palette I won in a giveaway (which I will be showing off and reviewing in an upcoming post):
I’m not sure what was up with the colouring on this first picture, but I’m including it to show you I’m not vampirically white in all lights, it’s just my flash!
My verdict: maybe not the best or most consistent product, but it’s so much better than ELF’s giant palettes, and with such wonderful colours, that I find it impossible to complain. The price is good, and the quality of the individual shadows seems to range from good to fantastic. Assuming I ever use this up, I’m sure I would want to repurchase, and at the very least, I’d love to try some more products from BH Cosmetics.
Let me know if you tried this or any other products from BH Cosmetics; I’d love to hear your thoughts! I’d also love to see or hear about your New Year’s makeup, so let me know in the comments!
I hope all of you are having a wonderful 2013 so far, thanks for reading!
