If you've been reading my blog for a really long time, its possible that you've already read a version of this tag/award from me, but that was a long time ago, and besides, the questions change each time, since you make up your own questions and tag others to do them after answering your tag-er's questions...

This post looked like a scary block of text,
so here's a second version of the picture that

became my new profile picture recently.
Because why not?

Did that make sense? For this tag, you answer the 11 questions that the person who tagged you came up with, then write your own 11 questions, and (try to) tag 11 bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. I was nominated this time by Christine of Lightsmithing. Here were her questions (and my answers, obviously)

1. What got you into blogging?
I got into blogging because of other small beauty bloggers and because of Reddit. I loved looking at other people's makeup and hauls and reviews, and I felt like I already bought so much makeup that that was something that I could love doing as well. I've also always kinda wanted to have a blog, but never had anything worth writing about before. =P

2. What is your favourite makeup brand?
I'm going to cheat on this one and pick two—one high-end and one drugstore. My favourite drugstore brand has to be Maybelline, and my favourite high-end brand is, of course, Urban Decay. Who's surprised?

3. What is a colour you love, but just can't pull off (makeup, clothes, accessories)?
It's possible that I either don't care or am completely crazy, but I think I'm one of those lucky people that can pull off all the colours I love wearing. Honestly, at least half of pulling off a look is acting and pretending that you can, and that confidence is going to look great. Obviously, some colours just won't work with some skin colours, but usually confidence plays a part in making a look just look wrong.

4. Where is your favourite place in the city/town you live?
I'm going to say that Vancouver as a regional district encompasses my smaller city, and so I'm going to tell you my favourite place in Vancouver, because, honestly, telling the internet which particular city I live it worries me a little. I'm kinda paranoid like that. >_> Anyways... Picking just one place is really hard, but definitely a big on is Stanley Park, especially in the Spring and Summer! It's just so pretty, because it's huge, with the water around it, and the tons of trees and trails and shit... I also just really like Downtown Vancouver for walking around and shopping in!

5. What app can't you live without? (Alternatively, what piece of tech can't you live without?)
The two apps I actually probably couldn't live without are Instagram and Hangouts. Hangouts is essentially Google/Android's stock texting app, but it also rolls in Google's online messenger, so it's how I talk to everyone I actually know. And then Instagram is just my app addiction; if I could only have one form of social media, it would be Instagram, because I just love pictures and photography, and since tons of people have stopped using the shitty filters, I think its a really fun way to share and look at pictures from all kinds of people! Not that I think I need to sell you on Instagram... I'm sure you love it too! (you should totally follow me!)

6. Name a place you've always wanted to go, but haven't yet. (Alternatively, name your favourite place that you have gone.)
The number one place on my list of places I really want to go is England! I have an addiction to all kinds of English/British things... History, fiction, tv, movies, actors, landmarks, accents, tea... Its basically my dream to see as much of England as possible... cool historical places like the Tower of London and some of the palaces, castles, or other important historical houses, landmarks to do with my favourite authors, like Tolkien and Austen, London, Cardiff, Doctor Who/Torchwood stuff... I'm a touch obsessive!

7. What's your favourite ice cream flavour?
My favourite normal ice cream flavour is French vanilla. My two more interesting favourites are Cake Batter and Coffee ice cream.

8. What's a topic you haven't blogged about, but would maybe do it if you had the opportunity?
This one is a bit hard, but I guess I have a couple of answers. The first is that I haven't ever really done any fashion stuff, and I think it could be fun. Also, though this is probably more vlogging material, but an event like LA or NY IMATS, BeautyCon, or VidCon would be fun to attend and share if I ever get the chance to go!

9. What's your favourite makeup item/category?
Item: probably Mascara, it's an essential for me. Category: probably lips because they're just so damn fun!

10. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I had lots of ideas when I was a kid, but I think my earliest one was that I wanted to be a Olympic Gold Medal Winning Figure Skater. Yes, I was specific about the Olympic gold medal. At 4 years old. =P

11. What's your secret talent?
I don't really think I have a secret talent... Though I guess I am really good at self-teaching myself computer stuff. Like HTML, which I began learning when I was aroung 12/13, making a webpage for my guild on Neopets... Shush... I can hear you laughing through the screen... I think I taught myself Photoshop, and I know I taught myself to edit videos using a couple different programs. It's just a thing I do for fun.

Liebster Blog Award

So I was recently nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by Blushing Antics (sorry, I don’t know your name!). I love tags, so obviously I was going to fill out this one!

11 Random Facts:

1. I only watch TV when I'm at the gym, but I do download and watch a lot of tv shows. I'm currently working my way through every FRIENDS episode in order, and in the middle of Game of Thrones and Sherlock. Waiting for Doctor Who to return. =)
2. I got Rowling's Casual Vacancy out of the library on the 4th, and I only have it out until the 18th... With all the school work I have to do between now and then, I'll be lucky to get halfway through that 500 page book!
3. I'm super excited for the Hobbit movie(s)
4. I'm also excited for the final instalment of the Twilight movies, as much as I'm likely to get hate about that! I loved the books and will finish the movies too, dammit, even if they don't compare!
5. Speaking about stuff I'm excited for, I'm looking forward to the opening of the new library building near me. It looks so awesome inside already.
6. In case you haven't got this already, I'm a nerd.
7. I love high-heels. I hate wearing them.
8. I really, really want a skull scarf, like the McQueen one, but probably cheaper...!

1. What is the number one place you want to travel to?
England, hands down!
2. What is your Hogwarts house? (I had to ask)
Ravenclaw, though Pottermore disagrees.
3. What nail polish are you wearing right now/did you wear last?
OPI Germanicure!
4. What is your number one beauty secret?
I'm not sure I have any beauty secrets that everyone doesn't do already.
5. What is more important to you: skincare or makeup?
Makeup! So much more fun.
6. What is the number one product that you want that you can't get where you live?
Not sure this counts, but some of the awesome indie polish brands either don't ship to Canada, or else charge huge amounts to do so... Also, ELF products are impossible to find in store here, and ELF's site charges an extra 8 bucks to ship to Canada.
7. What is your favourite food that other people might consider to be odd?
Uhhmm.... I'm not sure. I like tuna in white macaroni and cheese. Is that weird? Or KD with hotdogs and ketchup added... Potato chips and hummus? I'm not sure any of these really count as weird. I'm not really a weird-food person.
8. What is your dream job?
I'm not sure, long-term, ultimate dream job... That'd be nice if I knew. For a part-time job, I'd like to work at Sephora...
9. Is there something you dislike about blogging?
When I don't have time to write posts. I also like getting comments, so I guess when posts go without any reaction, that would be a dislike as well. As much as I blog for myself because I like it, I also blog for others to read.
10. What product has surprised you the most? It can be good or bad.
Probably Tarte's Lights, Camera, Splashes mascara. I hated it with a passion. I know lots of people love it, but that mascara and I just didn't get along, and that was the reason I switched back to drugstore mascaras after UD got rid of the old Waterproof Big Fatty. If a mascara is going to disappoint me that much again, I won't be spending almost $30 on it!
11. What is your favourite season and why?
Fall! Because it's cold, but not freezing, not hot and sweaty like summer. My makeup stays on all day, I get to wear jackets and boots and sweaters and scarves, and I don't have to shave or epilate my legs constantly! =P

One Lovely Blog Award

So just over a week ago Morgan from Beauty Matrix left me a comment letting me know that she’d nominated me for the One Lovely Blog Award, and I’m finally getting around to doing it.

Seven Facts About Me:

1. I currently have 73 bottles of nail polish, including my top an base coats.
2. My actual favourite magazine is UK Cosmo, but I can’t get a subscription since it would cost more than buying each issue as they come out.
3. Apparently I have a harder time staying on track if I only have one class for a semester, rather than my usual three.
4. I’m currently 6 books behind on my GoodReads 2012 challenge.
5. The hairdresser cut my hair a lot shorter than I apparently wanted. This is probably my fault, but I swear I’ve asked for it the same way before, an I like it more afterwards. Not that it’s bad now, but I feel like its a lot of work to make it wearable, and I’m so used to just washing and letting it air dry.
6. For someone who doesn’t usually like lip products all that much, I’ve bought and received a large number of them in the last little while, and there are still more that I want to acquire.
7. I currently have a stack of John Green books sitting beside me which I haven’t looked at since getting them out of the library, since if I’m reading, I should be reading for class, so instead I end up not reading anything besides blog posts an Reddit comments.

7 random facts about me:

1. I only need 3 stars to be a Starbucks gold member, and only 73 points to get the big Beauty Insider reward at Sephora (aka, I spend a lot of money on coffee and makeup).
2. My “Catching Fire” and “Mockingjay” books have arrived from England, so nothing productive will get done this week.
3. Some of my pricier weaknesses include: UK Cosmo (about $6.50 a month), Lindor chocolates, poutine from La Belle Patate, Starbucks coffee, Essie and OPI polishes.
4. My favourite perfumes are Paris Hilton and Curious, but I would really like to get a classier, more respectable perfume sometime soon. Chloe, perhaps?
5. My favourite colour is neon green
6. Despite having close to 40 pairs of shoes and sandals, I usually end up wearing the same 5 or so on anything like a regular basis, since heels hurt my feet so bad.
7. I have jewellery and/or clothes relating to almost all of my nerdy obsessions (Pokémon, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Portal, and Harry Potter), but nothing for Lord of the Rings or Assassin’s Creed. Granted, I technically haven’t played AC yet, so maybe that can be forgiven.

So that’s that! I also have a couple products I’ve acquired recently to post about, and I’ll probably do them both in the same post, because I think that makes more sense than two very short posts. That should be up in a couple of days.

Cute Blog Award

- Mascara! I can do without everything else if necessary, but I can’t leave the house without good ol’ black mascara… not with my shiny gold/blonde lashes…

- Hard to say… I don’t usually pay to much attention to fashion trends, since I tend to do my own thing…

3. What is your favourite dessert?
- Ice cream or cookies… or… ice cream AND cookies!!

- Black or neon green

- Leanne

6. What was the last song that you listened to?
- Christmas Lights by Coldplay (I know its not Christmas anymore, but its a really cute song)

- Dogs! But I love my kitty too.

Something about myself that you don't know:
- I got my first (pretty ghetto) makeup kit in grade 4. It came in a little purple glittery plastic lunchbox which contained a couple of glitter gels, 2 lip glosses, 3 lipsticks (neon pink, purple, and light blue O_o), 4 eye shadows (light and dark purple, and light and dark green), a glitter body spray, and a lip pencil that didn’t match any of the lipsticks, and which I think I usually used to draw tattoos on my arms and legs… >_>
