My First Butter London polishes!

Hey there everyone! I’m really busy lately as I’m already falling behind with this semester’s reading and such, but I thought I would take a break from Romantic-period poetry in order to do a post about my new Butter London polishes, which I am super excited about!

I may have already mentioned that I was planning to get a couple of Butter polishes with my Glymm points as well as the $10 gift card from the December Glymm box. I decided on the colours Chancer, which is a gorgeous, deep red, super fine glitter in a red base, as well as HRH, which is a bright, royal purple colour, which I picked partly because I noticed when I was painting my nail wheels a few weeks ago that I am seriously lacking in purple polishes, plus this colour is just beautiful!

Chancer was the colour I was most excited for, and I knew I needed to have it the moment that I saw it on the Glymm site. I’m really glad that the pictures online were true to life. (You might also notice that this is the colour I’m wearing right now, more pictures below.)

On the nail wheel, I thought that the polish might be reacting with the plastic, because the texture was a little weird. However, that is just the polish itself, which is a little rough because of the glitter in it. It also looks a little bit dull because of this, but a top coat fixes this completely and really brings out the shine and gives more depth to the colour.

HRH looks fantastic in the swatch I did on my nail wheel. Its a beautiful, smooth shimmery purple, and super shiny! I’m excited o try it out in time as well.

And here is Chancer with my Sephora by OPI top coat. Sorry for the rough clean-up job around the cuticles.

Also, as a random aside, did you know that all those pictures you see of these bottles are lying to you? The rectangular tops are actually just covers that you have to take off to open the bottle. I’m not sure why they do that, but I guess they look cooler and classier with the black, square tops on:

Have you ever tried Butter London polishes, and if so, what did you think of them? Which colours are your favourites? Have you used your Glymm points, or points from any other loyalty program, to get some cool stuff for free? Leave me comments!

  1. I have yet to own a Butter London. I think I'll have to wait until a sale or special deal comes along. By the way, I've nominated you for "The Vesatile Blogger" Award! Check out the details here: http://missveesnails.blogspot.com/2012/02/versatile-blogger-award.html
